The Lake County Planning & Development Services division has a staff of more than 10 full-time employees, which includes six professional planners. The division s mission is to provide a better quality of life for all Lake County residents by facilitating the development of a well-designed, efficient, healthy and safely built environment that enhances community identity, co-exists with the natural environment, and promotes sustainable development. It is responsible for the review of all commercial, industrial, public facility and residential site development within unincorporated Lake County, Fla. The other major function of the division is the review of application requests to change or alter zoning designations for specific properties and for maintaining the internal consistency of the land development regulations. The Lake County Planning & Development Services division is located in Tavares, Fla.
