Kicker Stillwater Designs is a provider of car and marine audio components, such as speakers, amplifiers and subwoofers. Kicker began in 1973 as a two-person operation, hand-building sound and musical instrument speaker systems for churches, auditoriums and entertainers. In 1980, the company emerged in the car audio enclosure market when company founder and President Steve Irby developed the original KICKER, a full-range speaker enclosure designed specifically for automotive use. Building on the original KICKER, the company concentrated on the car audio market and applied the same research and design skills that contributed to the development of a complete line of car audio components. More than 1,100 dealers in the United States and 2,000-plus dealers in nearly 50 countries sell Kicker s products. Kicker Stillwater Designs is headquartered in Stillwater, Okla.
