Joseph B Lanza Design Building is dedicated to the idea that a well designed house can improve and enrich the lives of the people who live in it. Thoughtful, practical planning can provide convenience and comfort, while space, light, scale, and proportion can work together to lift the spirit.By listening carefully to our client’s hopes and needs, and by paying close attention to the building site, we create designs for houses and additions that fit both the people and the place they have chosen to live. Then we build these designs twice. First, we construct a 3D CAD model to explore and refine the entire project. Then, using the the finest traditional craftsmanship, the most appropriate materials, and the latest in proven building technology, we build a real building that will bring comfort and pleasure to our clients for years to come.Since 1995, we have provided the convenience and economy of a single source for design and construction services to discriminating clients, offering an unusual combination of architectural ingenuity and hands-on building expertise. About Joe Over the last thirty years, Joe Lanza has done nearly every possible job on building projects as small as a coffee table and as large as the renovation of the Texas State Capitol. In between construction jobs, he earned a Bachelor¹s degree in history from Georgetown University and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Texas at Austin. While he still digs the occasional footing, he is happiest as an architect, cabinetmaker, and finish carpenter. Rather than choose, he does all three jobs today (but not always at the same time). Joe also writes frequently on design and construction topics for Fine Homebuilding magazine.
