General Info:
Jeanine M. Thompson earned her Bachelors of Landscape Architecture from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry and a Masters of Business Administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's Lally School of Management & Technology.
Her career spans across both the private sector and the public sector. As a student Jeanine began her career with an internship at the National Park Service and worked as a Transportation Construction Inspector with the NYS DOT. After moving into the private sector, she worked in Delaware, Maryland and New York with various firms managing projects for residential and commercial developments, parks and urban streetscapes.
In the public sector Jeanine spent ten years working at the New York State Capitol for the NYS Assembly as an Associate Deputy Fiscal Director and in the Governor's Office as Assistant Secretary for Transportation. During her tenure at the Assembly she spent her time working on the Debt Plan, Capital Plan, and the Financial Plan. While at the Chamber she implemented transportation policies. A notable project was creating and managing a Geographic Information System (GIS) team that mapped transportation assets for the NYS 2100 Commission in response to Hurricane Sandy.
Jeanine is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), serves on the ASLA Finance & Investments Committee, is a Board Member for the New York State Council of Landscape Architects (NYSCLA) and a devoted fan of the Adirondacks.
JMTLA was founded and has been led by Jeanine M. Thompson a NYS Licensed Landscape Architect. The specialized practice deals with the disorder of landscapes and land forms. We diagnose problems and constraints so we can provide a solution that can be innovative, sustainable, and artistic and thought provoking. At JMTLA we believe our practice can be the elixir for impossible spaces. The core areas of practice are in transportation and public and private spaces. The practice cultivates creative partnerships and teams to deliver a high quality product that is innovative and transformative.
