HI. There! Meredith LOCKLEAR here. I AM a graphic designer by profession (and logo designer EXTRAORDINAIRE) and love what I DO!
I began jack and molly in 2008. AT the time. I was selling ART in a boutique in Raleigh. North carolina and decided to take the business online via ETSY. HEY. WHY NOT? MY SON HAD just been born and I was pretty much AT home on ANY given evening and weekend. It was a hobby and a FUN ONE AT THAT. I quickly realized there were gobs of NEW businesses on ETSY and beyond that needed logo and branding help. I started with a FEW clients. And those FEW clients were happy with their results and passed MY name along. And those FEW continued to pass MY name along. And here I AM. 5 years later- always with lots of work!
in 2011. I decided to leave a full-time position AS a creative director for another Company and DO J M ALL the TIME!
MY experience includes serving 4 years AS the creative director and production manager for a national. Weekly publication (with a circulation of more than 100.000 each week) and a ROCKIN' apprenticeship AT a strategic communications firm (WHO have WON some great awards like the Addy. AIGA. Sabre. Pinnacle business. Holmes report. Telly and more. ) I walked away with a wealth of knowledge and experience worth gold. I hold a BA in graphic design from peace college (NOW william peace university) where I graduated with HONORS. I love ART in ANY form and enjoy bringing traditional ART mediums to the screen- from india INK and watercolor. To a good 'OL sketch with graphite. YOU CAN usually find ME in MY studio with a huge CUP of coffee (often sprinkled with eraser dust. Gross. Right?). Classical or awful RAP blasting and designing logos like a champ. I have a 5 year OLD SON named jackson (and a niece named molly. Thus 'jack and molly'). 2 wiener dogs. 2 hermit crabs and a RAT (YES. Really) that make MY life complete.
