General Info:

Hospice & Palliative Care of Central Kentucky, founded in 1980, is a member agency of the United Way and provides bereavement services to more than 800 patients and their families. It operates under the Alliance of Community Hospices & Palliative Care Services and serves Adair, Breckinridge, Grayson, Green, Hardin, LaRue, Marion, Meade, Taylor and Washington counties in Kentucky. Its bereavement program helps people deal with the grief that comes with life-changing loss, such as death, divorce, job loss and trauma. Its hospice caregivers include medical directors, nurses, certified nursing assistants, social workers, expressive therapists, chaplains, bereavement counselors, support staff and volunteers who provide medical treatment, and emotional and spiritual support. The center offers a wide range of services, including pain management, nursing, counseling, seminary and music therapy. It is located in Elizabethtown, Ky., and is approved by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
