Honolulu City Lights draws thousands of visitors to Downtown Honolulu in December, to see the city transform itself into a warm winter wonderland. Just as the sky grows dark, the city's mayor flicks the switch on the Honolulu Hale Christmas Tree, to signal the official start of the light-up. When the tree sparks to life, so does the rest of the city. The Electric Light Parade makes its way from Aala Park through King Street and into Downtown in a brilliant display of festivity and colours. Downtown, the "Corridor of Lights" goes live, with LED displays along some of the most prominent buildings. Guests can partake in Keiki rides, try out food and drink at the holiday stalls, view the handsome display of decorated trees and wreaths in the Honolulu Hale Courtyard, and children can enjoy a visit to Santa. The City Lights remain on every night until 11pm, into early January.
