The Hennepin County Auditor s Office has a range of responsibilities that includes maintenance of tax descriptions for various parcels of land, certification of tax status and processing special assessment levies. In addition, it is responsible for the processing of abatements, calculation of tax rates and various other duties associated with tax forfeited land, including conducting land auctions. The office is located in Minneapolis, and is a part of the property tax division of the taxpayer services department of Hennepin County, Minn. The taxpayer services department operates through several other divisions, such as administrative services, service centers, public records, survey and elections. Its elections division provides voter registration and election administration services for federal, state and local elections.
