HCA West Florida is a network of hospitals, outpatient surgery and diagnostic imaging facilities, and several specialized health programs and services that meet the health care needs of residents and businesses in the communities of west and central Florida. Its affiliated facilities include a regional laboratory, service center, hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and diagnostic imaging and occupational health sites. HCA West Florida provides care for approximately 472,000 patients through emergency department s visits and over 153,000 hospital admissions. It has a staff of more than 4,000 physicians and over 15,000 employees. The division has been recognized by the Florida Association of Healthcare Quality s professionals for its national campaign Clean Hands Are Cool Hands campaign. Located in Palm Harbor, Fla., HCA West Florida is a subsidiary of HCA, also known as the Hospital Corporation of America, which owns and operates more than 170 hospitals and nearly 110 freestanding surgery centers in the United States, England and Switzerland.
