Founded by Tom Harvey, TomHarveyTraining.com is dedicated to excellence and innovations in performance conditioning, strength development and Martial Studies. My goal is simple enough, to provide you a content rich resource designed to assist in your pursuit of excellence.
Every individual trains for different reason. So I'm not here to tell you what to train for, instead I'm here to help prepare you for the goals and challenges that interest you as a individual. Successful training is all about finding what works for you, with that in mind my goal is to help you find your way. I don't believe in the do it my way or else mentality.
As a Strength and Conditioning trainer and Martial Studies teacher, I run my in-person business training and teaching real martial athletes with unique needs. What works for one individual may be entirely different from what works for another. There are fundamental principles that can and should be applied in our training, however we are not a one size fits all. Each individual has a unique engine with unique needs and unique goals.
I consider it imperative that we all practice what we preach. Keeping within the spirit of Jeet Kune Do, I am all about simplicity in terms of training, lifestyle, and program design. The things I write about are in fact the way I live my life and how I approach training. My passion lays in training and working with martial athletes while experimenting with various protocols, and constantly researching new ideas and methodologies.
I have been extremely fortunate over the past 25 years of martial studies and 20 years as fitness pro in the fact I have been surrounded by top level leaders from various industries. Two such mentors I hold near and dear are Sifu Mike Rutter and Sifu Ted Wong. I hope I can serve as a similar role-model to those that I work with. I also hope to serve as a positive influence and educator to everyone that comes across this site.
In-person I generally like to work with smaller groups and/or private lessons. My belief is that this facilitates a better learning environment.
