General Info:
AboutThe mission of the HRCDCC is to provide full day child care and learning opportunities for children ages two years to eight years in a secure and nurturing environment. The Center serves the community by providing care to children regardless of the family's financial resources, race, or religious affiliation. Our goal is to provide high quality childcare to the community while maintaining our current licensing and accreditation standards. The Harrisonburg Rockingham Child Day Care Center provides high quality childcare to children ages 2 " 5 during the school year and 6 " 8 year olds during the summer. We are funded by United Way and offer an income based sliding fee scale which allows our child care center to be affordable to all families regardless of their income. Structured as a non-profit 501C3 agency, the center relies on funding from the United Way and fundraising efforts to offer a sliding fee scale based upon the income of the parents. Each classroom consists of a head teacher and an assistant teacher. The head teachers in each classroom have a two or four year degree and plan wonderful, hands on learning activities for the children. There is usually a theme for the week and often incorporates a season or holiday. The pre-k classroom uses the Blue Print Curriculum in alignment with the city schools pre-k programs. We are proud of the longevity of our staff. The Center employs 16 head teachers. Of the 16 teachers, three have been with the Center for over five years, six have been with the Center for over ten years, four for over fifteen years and one teacher was with the Center for twenty eight years before retiring in 2009!Welcome to the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Child Day Care website!
