Grimm Brothers Plastics began with two brothers, Kent and Curt Grimm, fabricating particleboard electronic cabinets that were covered with Formica. The idea of a plastic cabinet was discussed which prompted the brothers to attend the National Plastic Expo held in Chicago in May of 1985. A pressure forming company out of Chicago was selected to mold the cabinets. With the experience of having an outside source make the cabinet, Grimm Brothers discovered the opportunity to become involved in pressure forming. The first machine was a vacuum-former, which the brothers retrofitted into a pressure-former. The company is now operating in an 85,000-square-foot building in Wapello, Iowa. Grimm Brothers serves the needs of industries including medical, fitness, food and beverage, industrial, recreation, appliance and business machines.
