General Info:

The American Overseas Marine Corporation was founded in 1984. In 1988, the company won the contract to manage 12 vessels for the Maritime Administration and has been the ships managers since then. In 2000, it won both the Fast Sealift and Marine Prepositioning Force competition, as well as winning the competition to manage nine Royal Regiment of Fusiliers vessels. In 2004, AMSEA was awarded nine large, medium-speed and roll-on/roll-off vessels. Since its inception, the company s employment has grown to the point where it employs sea-going crews that come from two maritime unions. The officers belong to the American Maritime Officers Union and the unlicensed from the Seafarers International Union. The American Overseas Marine Corporation has offices in Quincy, Mass.
