Gateway has been on the cutting edge of addiction treatment, and was selected from over 200 agencies across the nation to participate in the Network for the Improvement of Addiction Treatment project through The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Gateway has led the state of Oklahoma in reducing barriers that keep people from obtaining treatment for addiction. Gateway was honored by Oklahoma Department of Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services for their efforts in this learning collaborative. Gateway's intensive and outpatient program is a structured treatment experience designed to give people with addiction problems the knowledge, structure and support which to allow them to initiate a long-term program of recovery and quality of life without reliance on alc ohol, or other drugs. Gateway emphasizes the critical importance of utilizing recovery support groups based on the 12 steps during the time a person is in treatment and afterwards once treatment is completed. Gateway is dedicated to the reduction of addiction, related mental health issues, and related family problems. Gateway serves individuals, families, and communities in central Oklahoma. There are two outpatient facilities - one located in Shawnee and the other in Chandler.
