Fox River Foods started as a meat locker plant in 1948. Responding to the changing market conditions during the mid-1960s, the company specialized as a wholesale food distributor. During the next 10 years, the company evolved into a full-line foodservice distributor in response to the requirements of its customers. The company offers a variety of products, including produce; meat programs, including boxed meats that consist of primals, sub-primals and fabricated beef products and a custom-cut program of prepared steaks, chops, roasts, sausage and luncheon meats; dry items, consisting of major national brands and its own House brands under the Fox's yellow and blue labels and the Jason label; non-food items, such as paper and plastic items, soaps and chemicals, silverware, glassware and table-top items; and frozen products, including vegetables and seafood, dinner entrees, desserts, juices and snacks, appetizers and bakery products. Fox River Foods is headquartered in Montgomery, Ill.
