Founded in 1984, Florida Dog Guides F.T.D is a nonprofit training school that designs programs for training dogs for people with disabilities. It trains dogs to assist patients with physical and rehabilitative services. The facility provides specialty dogs that may also be trained to assist physically challenged people to use crutches, canes and mobility carts. It operates the Pennies for Pooches Project, which encourages school children to save and then donate their pennies towards the training of dogs.
