Five Star Sportfishing Hawaii was formed by John Troutman a few years after he retired from the U.S. Marine Corps and moved to Hawaii. John wanted to establish a venue that would share his passion and knowledge of big game sport fishing with all people, experienced or beginner. Five Star Sportfishing has become most successful due to an excellent reputation of outstanding customer service. Whether you fish with Captain Rubin or Captain John your day on the water will prove to be an enjoyable and most memorable experience during your stay in Honolulu. The Boat RUCKUS is a 38 Bertram that is spacious, comfortable and custom configured to fish the waters in Hawaii . RUCKUS is a one stateroom, one bath, air-conditioned vessel that boasts a flat screen television, a High Definition Digital Antenna that can catch the big game up to 65 miles offshore. RUCKUS also has a small refrigerator and microwave oven onboard for your convenience. The bridge alone has more than enough room to comfortably seat most of the charter. Both RUCKUS and Five Star Sportfishing are located in Honolulu at Kewalo Basin Harbor just minutes from Waikiki. Last but not least, RUCKUS is considered one of the best (if not THE best) striking boat in the Harbor. While there are no guarantees, rest assured that RUCKUS and Crew are genuine professionals and you have a high probability of catching fish! The Equipment RUCKUS uses are Penn and Shimano big game reels which are provided. We will supply everything for your day on the water except food and drink. We also provide the ice and coolers for food and drink. There is no requirement for fishing licenses. The Fish: Five Star Sportfishing trolls for Marlin, Mahi-Mahi, Ahi (Yellowfin Tuna), and Ono (Wahoo). These pelagic fish are caught all year round in Hawaii. We will gladly cut and share up to 50 pounds of fish for fish weighing less than 100 pounds. Unfortunately all fish weighing over 100 pounds are required to stay with the boat. C
