Firequip Inc is proud to be celebrating 30 years of service to the fire service industry. Firequip Inc was established in February 1979 by the former Fire Chief of Elon, North Carolina, John M. ( Bill ) Hetzel. Along with Sam Campbell, a former Elon firefighter and chief, and James Holt, a former professional baseball player and later an Elon firefighter, the Firequip team created a network of fire equipment distributors dedicated to serving the fire service industry with the highest quality fire hose for all applications. Based on the fundamental business principles of competitive pricing, timely delivery, and superior customer service, Firequip fills an important void in the fire service industry with its emphasis on quick turnaround of orders. When most manufacturers of fire hose produce only to order with average delivery timeline in a range of 6-12 weeks, Firequip has been able to deliver within two to four weeks consistently due to their commitment to stock adequate inventory across the broadest portfolio of fire hose applications. In January 2006, Ron Stanley and his wife, Janette, acquired Firequip from Mr. Hetzel. Ron retired from Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling in Europe where he had been Country General Manager for Hungary and Poland. This acquisition fulfilled their lifelong ambition of entrepreneurship to utilize more than thirty years of successful general management experience in the soft drink industry. Through the combined efforts of Sam Campbell, General Manager, and a staff representing 100 years of technical experience, Firequip, under the new family ownership, has significantly increased its business volume through an expansion of product lines, innovation, national and export distribution. Firequip today continues its tradition of sourcing, assembling, stenciling, inspecting and testing to NFPA Standards 1961, 2007 edition, the highest quality fire hose built to the highest specification standards in the industry.
