The Lancaster Family Center works to prevent child abuse, encourages parent involvement in children s education and assists families in becoming self-sufficient. Located in Lancaster, Pa., it offers parenting, early intervention, health care and outreach services. The center administers the Parent Child Home Program, which includes a range of services for families with at-risk children. The Lancaster Family Center also provides support services and nutrition education and fatherhood programs. It is operated by Community Action Program of Lancaster County, which is a private, nonprofit human services and community development corporation. Founded in 1966, Community Action Program of Lancaster County offers child care, housing development, case management, energy conservation and Head Start programs for low-income families.
