At Epiphany Lutheran Nursery School, our curriculum includes a variety of group and individual activities focusing on fine and gross motor, social, critical thinking and life skills. These skills are developed through indoor and outdoor playtime, story time, music and movement, art, Spanish and Chapel activities. Our monthly themes include activities and programs that incorporate health habits, science activities, math concepts and age-appropriate reading readiness activities. The curriculum in the Pre K and Jr. K classes is designed to prepare students for kindergarten in either public or private schools and includes the "Handwriting Without Tears" curriculum. Although the Bible is not taught as part of our classroom curriculum, we do teach by Christian example, include Christian holiday themes, and practice Christian habits such as prayer before meals in our classrooms. In addition, all of our classes (except Green) will enjoy a weekly Chapel time with one of the Pastors or Diaconal Minister. At Epiphany, each child is given ample opportunity to develop physically, emotionally, socially and cognitively to his or her greatest potential. This is done in a nurturing atmosphere where the teacher acts as a facilitator who provides hands-on experiences and activities that are appropriate to the individual child's developmental level.
