ENTEK International designs and builds manufacturing, processing and tooling equipment. The company has 16 manufacturing lines, with eight that are capable of producing industry standard RhinoHide battery separators. In 1997, ENTEK became the first battery separator manufacturer in the world to achieve QS 9000 certification as required by the Big Three automakers. In April 1998, ENTEK received its fifth consecutive Worldwide Supplier of the Year award from General Motors. ENTEK began research and development of product lines and materials in 1984. Commercial production began when the primary manufacturing plant opened in 1987. The company has shipped more than 17 billion feet of the battery separator material made from patented processes. Employing 320 people, ENTEK headquarters is in Lebanon, Ore. It is a privately-owned company.
