Our Story:I was working at a big fitness facility with all the machinery and amenities a person could imagine. I witnessed the gym making a lot of money and paying me very little. On top of that, I couldn’t properly care for and teach my clients that needed the best of me. I saw a need to create a private training studio that could accommodate groups. One of my former clients (Lisa Olson) approached me about how I helped her change her life, & she said if she had to go back and pay every penny of her life savings to feel the way she does about life now; that she would. It’d be worth it. In fact she felt so strongly that she wanted prove it, and invest in me and my talents for helping others bring about a healthy change. She wanted to start a fitness business with me! We are building Empowered Recreation, a place for empowering people with the coaching and tools that they need to change themselves for the better. Here at ER people are encouraged to “Unleash Your Inner Championâ€Â. We have grown every month since the beginning back in November of 2011. We have built a staff of great people who really care about fitness and helping others achieve success in their particular goals. We have a scholarship program, where we pay the way to help a chosen few in need of our services. We do a charity event quarterly and have a lot of fun helping our charity partners such as the Boys and Girls Club of South King County and the Susan G Komen Foundation. We have helped 3 people lose over 65 pounds in only 8 months as well as countless others who have lost their share as well. Our business is the launching pad of many dreams and goals of people who want more out of life and need coaching and accountability to help them achieve success. We aim to grow our business to a large following of “Empowered Familyâ€Â. A great group of advocates teaching people about living a healthy lifestyle. We want people to be the best that they can be. Our mission statement follows: “We empower people with programs and coaching that enhance the individual’s ability to re-create themselves as healthy, active citizens for the benefit of everyone.â€Â
