Educational & Institutional Co-Op is a nonprofit buying cooperative that provides and goods and services to its members. Established in 1921, the co-op was formed to serve educational institutions in two primary capacities: to share information and to enable 'pool' buying. It is owned by its membership of more than 1500 tax-exempt colleges, universities, prep schools, hospitals, medical research institutions and hospital purchasing organizations located throughout the United States. It continues to pursue the ever-changing needs of its member institutions. It strives to provide ability to leverage its existing contracts in a competitive setting. Furniture, computers and electronics, maintenance, food service, office products, as well as transportation and delivery service are just a few of the types of contracts available. Educational & Institutional Co-Op is headquartered in Hauppauge, N.Y.
