General Info:

I'm a happy, compassionate, non-judgmental PhD psychotherapist w/ over 40 yrs experience serving adults & adolescents. I have my degree from George Washington University. I show my clients how to be happy from the inside out and that the answers are within them. We believe the lies we learned about who we are as children, and I call this "mind spam." By chipping away at the false outward ego, my clients are able to discover their true self within - who they were meant to be, what they were meant to do, and their destiny and gifts. In working with couples I use a model that gets to the bottom of the conflict, which is surprisingly not what they have been fighting about, but unmet needs from childhood. Once we identify these needs, clients can better give each other what they truly need in order to be happy. The model also emphasizes that we each must be responsible for our role in the relationship and that we an only change ourselves. I'm known as the Queen of Hearts as I am willing to work as hard as my couples - I also believe we can fall in love again so my couples love each other but end up being in love, as well. I use a holistic mind-body approach and we are unable to separate the two. As a hypnotherapist, I can also use hypnosis to alleviate stress and anxiety and to teach my clients to do it as well. Panic attacks become a thing of the past. If our mind can make us ill, it can also heal us. I believe that the purpose of life is to be happy, a la Gandhi, and that this life is not a dress rehearsal. I want my clients to learn to live their lives full out and to use the entire box of crayons. It is the true self I mention above that knows what will truly make us happy and use this concept in the career counseling we provide, often to people wanting to change careers mid-life. I am an author, speaker, teacher, and educator as well, providing training and workshops to businesses. Plus as a life coach I work with people in recovery to maximize their sobriety.
