About Rob
Rob started out many years ago with my own pet service business; walking dogs, pet sitting, boarding and training. Subsequently, I taught obedience for 7 years at Twin Cities Obedience Training Club (TCOTC), and spent 4 years as Puppy Program Coordinator at Can Do Canines teaching the puppy raisers of potential assistance dogs. Most recently, I was Training Coordinator and Behavior Specialist at Stone Mountain Pet Lodge, teaching most of their classes, managing the doggy daycare program, and consulting on behavior problems.
I am a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator with the American Kennel Club (AKC). I teach classes and do official testing for the Star Puppy, Canine Good Citizen, and Community Canine programs.
Over the last 12 years, I have trained dogs and helped fosters and adopters learn the skills to enable the dogs, smooth transitions from temporary quarters to their new forever homes.
My mission is to share all that I have learned working with dogs over the years with as many people as I can, in a positive and fun way for both the dog and the owner.
I love training dogs, teaching classes and seminars, and helping people learn more about dogs and dog behavior so they can become successful and happy dog parents. I use science-based, positive training techniques and games to make training fun and enjoyable for all. Education is key, whether this is a first dog or a tenth dog, whether a puppy or an older dog, there is always more to learn about dogs.
When I'm not working with dogs and clients, I'm researching what's new in dog science and dog training to become more skilled myself, or I'm out playing with my Golden Retrievers Jake and Max.
