Desert Research Institute, founded in 1959, is a nonprofit research campus, and is governed by the Nevada Systems of Higher Education. The center provides environmental research and application technologies. It implements various services, such as fostering scientific technology for advancement and integration of terrestrial, hydrologic, atmospheric and anthropologic sciences.
