DeConna Ice Cream Company is a family-owned company with hundreds of years of combined experience in the ice cream business. DeConna Ice Cream Company provides several different varieties of ice cream, including Big Daddy reduced fat ice cream. In 2003, the Florida-based company agreed to a $1.2 million settlement of a two-year-old class-action lawsuit brought by consumers who had purchased the company's Big Daddy brand ice cream under the impression that it contained 100-calories per serving when, in fact, it contained 300-calories per serving, as well as 7.5 grams of fat and 50 carbohydrates rather than the 2 grams of fat and 19 carbohydrates indicated. While the company has a location in Reddick, the DeConna Ice Cream Company maintains a warehouse in Palm Bay, Fla.
