Cytech Products was founded in March 1988 as a joint venture between Chukyo Yushi (Nagoya, Japan), Tomen Corporation (Tokyo, Japan) and Tomen America (New York). The company operates under contract from Chukyo Yushi, which provides all product design and development. Tomen America coordinates all administrative functions for Cytech Products, as well as, acting as a sales agent on its behalf. Cytech's facilities in Elizabethtown, Ky., have expanded since that time to include 7,500 square feet of manufacturing space, 10,000 square feet of warehouse space and 4,500 square feet of office space. As a manufacturer of performance chemicals, Cytech's products include mold release agents for polyurethane foam (for the automotive industry) and coating chemicals for thermosensitive papers and labels (for the thermal paper industry).
