Since its charter in 1935, Credit Union of America, a full-service credit union, has served thousands of consumer members with varying financial needs. Over the years the credit union has grown in membership and services, and currently serves members through six convenient offices--five in Wichita and one in Great Bend, Kan. The credit union relies on member volunteers for its Board of Directors as well as for the credit and supervisory committees. The union has grown to a staff of 96 employees and serves more than 27,000 members. Even through such growth, the credit union remains a financial cooperative owned and controlled by the members, and remains existing for the financial benefit of its members.
