General Info:

Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA)/Prince George's County trains ordinary citizen volunteers who are empowered by the courts to provide best interest advocacy for over 150 abused and neglected children and youth each year. Every day, our volunteers are standing up for the children in our community, protecting their rights and helping them find their forever home. We provide volunteer training four times a year. Applicants go through a screening process and then are invited to attend our next training. Once an applicant completes the training and screening, he or she is matched up with a child in foster care. CASA Volunteers make a minimum one year commitment to advocate for the needs of their court appointed child or youth. Volunteers spend about 10 to 15 hours a month advocating for the needs of their assigned child.
