In 1935, a group of Exxon employees in Baytown, Texas, joined together to form a credit union. This nonprofit financial cooperative, now known as Community Resource Credit Union, created a financial institution dedicated to the mission of people helping people with financial services. Today, the member-owned and operated credit union is democratically governed. The organization provides savings, money market, certificate of deposit, checking and individual retirement accounts. Community Resource s loan services include vehicle, home, gap insurance and Qwik loans as well as credit cards. The credit union is located in Baytown, Texas. Membership in Community Resource Credit Union is open to anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school within the Goose Creek, Crosby, Barbers Hill, Huffman, Humble and New Caney school districts.
