Community Health and Environmental Services Department protects and promotes the health and safety of Anoka County, Minn. The department is committed to promoting the health and safety of children and families with health programs that include Women, Infants & Children (WIC), children and teens checkups and public health nursing visits to shut-ins. The Health Education and Health Promotion program provides services to the community by providing health education resources, teaching and consultation to community groups and organizations, collaborating with other community entities to develop community health promotion plans, programs or agendas and providing community data on the incidence of disease, injury, and risk factors. Anoka County is bounded by Isanti County on the north, Chisago and Washington Counties on the east, Ramsey and Hennepin Counties on the south, and Hennepin and Sherburne Counties on the west. It lies on both sides of the Rum River, which enters the county approximately 20 miles north of Anoka, Minn.
