The Columbus County Health Department works to prevent disease, promote health and protect the environment for the citizens and assesses and responds to the health needs of the community. It provides screening physicians and supports the Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program (BCCCP), which is offered to women between the ages of 50 and 64, who are not eligible for Medicaid or Medicare.
