As it happens, City Volkswagen of Chicago is the same place where new owner Anthony Scala had his very first job in life. His father ran the Lynch Auto group back in the ’80s and ’90s and Anthony was a porter in his teenage years. Anthony grew up in Sauganash and went to St. Patrick High School. He continued working as a porter in college at a dealership in Evanston and that is where he met his partner Shawn Kohli. Shawn was a full-time salesperson putting himself through DePaul. Anthony and Shawn always saw the car business from a different perspective and vowed to do things ‘differently’ if they ever had a store of their own. They are first-generation car dealers who believe the purchasing and servicing experience should be transparent, convenient, and fun! Anthony and Shawn have many locals ties as they both grew up in the area and still live locally. They believe in not only servicing the local community but actually being a part of it. Today, the goal is to make City Volkswagen of Chicago the best VW dealer in the state and a staple in the Northwest Side community.
