General Info:

The Sewer Maintenance Division is a part of the Public Works Department, which is administered by the government of the City of Cambridge in Massachusetts. The division maintains and repairs the city s stormwater collection and sanitary and combined sewer systems. Its maintenance responsibilities include responding to obstructed sewer lines, cleaning catch basins, repairing broken sewer lines, controlling sewer odors, and inspecting and approving private connections to public sewers. The Sewer Maintenance Division utilizes the services of city personnel and contractors to complete its maintenance activities. The division also works in collaboration with the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) for handling various wastewater issues. In addition, the Sewer Maintenance Division is responsible for the development and management of critical projects, such as stormwater management, combined sewer overflow monitoring, and inflow and infiltration studies.
