Cincinnati Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired is a private, nonprofit organization offering comprehensive services to people who are blind or visually impaired. It manufactures products which are sold primarily to the federal government and participates in a program of the National Industries for the Blind in which more than 80 nonprofit blindness agencies in the United States sell products to the government under the provisions of the Javits-Wagner-O'Day Act. Its services include computer access, early childhood and youth services, employment in manufacturing jobs, radio reading services, rehabilitation teaching and social service. The organization assists more than 4,000 persons annually and employs more than 50 people who are blind or visually impaired in the industries program. It publishes a newsletter, Viewpoint, and an annual report. The organization is funded by the United Way and is a member of the National Industries for the Blind, and is located in Cincinnati.
