General Info:

Chateau Morrisette® is one of the oldest and largest Virginia wineries. Located along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Floyd County, Virginia, Chateau Morrisette® sits at 3500 feet with spectacular views of the valley below. Open year round and dog friendly, we offer tours, tastings, and retail wine sales both onsite and online. The winery is able to ship wine legally to over 30 states and we offer a direct ship wine club called the Founders Club where members receive discounts on purchases and quarterly shipments of wines to suit their tastes. Wine tastings consist of a sampling of ten wines poured by one of our wine educators and is geared toward the novice and intermediate wine drinker. For an in depth tasting experience, we offer an Elite Wine Tasting which requires advanced reservations and includes a private tasting, food pairings, and a tasting of at least one wine in progress. Chateau Morrisette® is known for producing a wide variety of wines, from the traditional varietals like Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Viognier, and Chardonnay, to more untraditional blends like Our Dog Blue®, The Black Dog®, and Sweet Mountain Laurel®. We even produce an Orchard Series of wines, including Blackberry, Cherry, Apple and Sangria. Considered a mid-size winery, Chateau Morrisette® manufactures and cellars over 60,000 cases per year and has distribution throughout Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky and West Virginia. Chateau Morrisette® is a working farm with a 38-acre vineyard and a 1-acre vegetable garden used to grow produce for our estate restaurant. The restaurant offers locally sourced foods in a casual, fine dining setting. Ranked by Open Table as having one of the top 100 restaurant views in America and top 100 restaurants for brunch. Note: Restaurant hours are seasonal and differ from the winery’s operational hours. With on site catering, private meeting and banquet facilities, and wide open mountain spaces, Chateau Morrisette® is an ideal location for weddings, corporate events, and social gathers. Our Events department produces a variety of events throughout the year, including a Wine and Chocolate Pairing, a Winemaker’s Dinner, several holiday events, and three large music festivals throughout the summer. Our Black Dog Music Festivals take place in July, August and September. You will find Chateau Morrisette® attending any number of wine festivals around the Commonwealth of Virginia every year.
