Certi-Fresh Foods is a seafood preparation and marketing company. It offers a selection of fish and seafood products that are harvested from oceans and farms throughout the world. The company provides fresh and breaded seafood, including fresh halibut, yellowfin tuna, sea bass, swordfish, salmon, gourmet breaded scallops, oysters, fish and vegetables. Southern California-based Certi-Fresh was established in 1979. In 1998, it began selling value-added shrimp products to restaurant chains throughout the United States. In 2001, Certi-Fresh acquired Golden Bounty Foods, enabling it to expand into the breaded seafood, vegetables, jalapeno poppers and mozzarella categories. Its breaded products account for more than 15 percent of sales. In 2002, Certi-Fresh established a fresh fish division to sell seafood products to high-end grocery chains. The company employs more than 160 people at its headquarters in Bell Gardens, Calif.
