Established in 1810, Central United Methodist Church is a reconciling congregation, located in Detroit. The church offers Good Friday and Easter services. The church s ministries include the Swords into Plowshares Peace Center and Gallery that relates several artistic work to promoting nonviolence. Its peace for youth ministry equips youth to practice nonviolent problem solving at school, and in the community, offers a bag lunch program, and hosts a rotating shelter for the homeless.
