Founded in 1977, the Central Florida Fire Academy is a regional firefighter school that offers minimum standards classes and training for experienced firefighters and other fire and rescue personnel, including fire inspectors and investigators, emergency vehicle operators, and urban search and rescue teams specializing in various types of rescue, such as collapse, confined space, hazardous materials, high-angle and structural tower rescue. The school offers a variety of special operations courses that includes trench rescue, vehicle and machinery rescue and rope rescue. In addition, the Central Florida Fire Academy offers an emergency vehicle operator and emergency medical services bicycle operations courses. It is located in Orlando, Fla.
