I've interviewed every sort of job applicant that's out there, from C-level executives at international companies, to their personal assistants, to grocery clerks, to the long-time unemployed, to students fresh out of college. I'm a firm believer in the fact that every single person, regardless of background, has unique talents, abilities, and strengths that would make them an excellent fit for multiple jobs or companies. One of my responsibilities as a temporary recruiter was convincing my clients that an applicant I was working with was a good fit and could do the job required, and do it well. Nine times out of ten, the client asked to see a resume – and if that resume didn’t hit certain points, the job applicant wouldn’t be hired. End of story. That’s when I began helping the job applicants I was working with re-work and re-write their resumes. I sat in the interview with them and really dug out what it was they were best at; what made them a great job applicant. I helped them highlight that on their resumes, and, using feedback I’ve received from countless HR departments and hiring managers at every sort of company in Boston, I gave them a tool they could take home with them, beyond their interview with me, to use to promote themselves. Unlike a lot of national resume-writing services, I don’t use any tricks or gimmicks when I’m working on your resume and cover letter. I find out exactly what it is you have to offer, and help you showcase it in the most effective way possible. I’ve worked with career bartenders, with people unemployed for multiple years looking to get back into the work force, with small business owners, and with executive assistants; with naturalists, meat cutters, administrative assistants, and salespeople.
