General Info:

A licensed surveyor with over 30-years experience, Marc Carstens founded Carstens Surveying & Western Digital Cartography, Inc ( WDC ) in 1993. Our survey department has specialized in boundary work, subdivision work, construction staking, and topographic mapping with imaging. We work with environmental professionals in mapping wetlands, surface waters, and wildlife corridors to be used for identifying areas for easements and buffer areas. We provide mapping for other disciplines such as engineering, architectural, and land use planning. We provide clients with elevations certificates and work with FEMA in submitting LOMA applications for review. WDC employs a base staff of 10 including two party chiefs with over 45 years combined experience, a licensed civil engineer, a licensed sanitarian, an experienced drafter, field crews, office staff, and seasonal help as needed. WDC owns and uses only the best surveying and office equipment including Lieca GPS equipment and Total Stations, HP plotters and printers, AutoCAD software, and the normal compliment of trucks, ATV's, and watercraft. Carstens Surveying & Western Digital Cartography, Inc strives to be a valuable contributor to our shared community and surrounding areas and seeks to become the preferred surveying firm in Western Montana. WDC can, and will, provide the expertise looked for in a licensed surveying firm.
