Located in Carrollton, Ga., Carroll County Prison provides housing for inmates of the state and county and a general labor force that supports the Carroll County government. The division has more than 170 inmates assigned to work in various areas in the county. The department provides labor to a number of local agencies, including the roads department, fire and rescue, animal control, county maintenance, courthouse and health departments. The division s inmates also work inside the prison at various facilities and tasks, including the laundry, barbershop, kitchen, janitorial services and building maintenance tasks. In addition, the department also offers various self-improvement programs, such as the Substance Abuse 101 program, Alcoholics Anonymous, general recreation and family violence classes.
