Coats were the primary offering, but over time the concept evolved into a one-stop shopping experience. Extensive selections of men's and women's suits, sportswear, shoes and accessories developed followed by baby and youth departments. A linens department was added in 1987. The company is a national department store retail chain that offers current, high-quality designer merchandise at prices up to 60 percent below those at other department stores. More than 350 stores can be found in nearly 45 states nationwide. Burlington Coat Factory maintains a location in Macedonia, Ohio.
