Founded in 1961 by Roscoe Brown, Brown Bear Corporation started manufacturing its own line of products for pipeline and drain tile backfilling in 1968. The Brown Bear tractor line of machines was initially built in 1976. The product line has expanded into the environmental and utility industries with the Brown Bear trademark name. The company moved to its current 40,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Corning, Iowa, in 1990. Its products are sold throughout the United States and internationally in several different industries: environmental, pipeline construction and utility construction and maintenance. All engineering, design, fabrication, paint and assembly, as well as sales and support, is handled out of Brown Bear Corporation s Corning office.
