Bristol Public Library has a collection of Bristol city information. Its collection includes photographs, postcards, maps, books, diaries, memoirs, oral histories, high school year s books and scrapbooks. Based in Bristol, Conn., the library has a record of family histories, city directory, church and cemetery records. Its first press was established in 1871 available on microfilm copies, which contains birth notices, marriage announcements, and obituaries of local residents. Patrons interested in researching images of Bristol s past can view hundreds of photographs dating from the nineteenth century to the present. The library has an Information File, which contains material about some of the known houses in Bristol and neighborhoods that are on the National Register of Historic Places.
