Bridgewater College Athletics department encourages men and women to participate in intercollegiate athletics by offering a versatile athletic program. The college sponsors more than 20 varsity programs, which include baseball, basketball, cross-country, football, golf, soccer, tennis, indoor track, and outdoor track for men. It also sponsors basketball, field hockey, lacrosse, riding, softball, soccer, tennis, indoor track, outdoor track, and volleyball for women. The athletic program supports cheerleading, a dance team and pep band, which perform at home football and basketball games. The college is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, and follows guidelines and policies set forth by this governing body. Its teams are members of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, which has more than 10 member institutions. Its basketball and volleyball facility includes a gym, along with coaches offices, classrooms, training room, weight room, team locker rooms, two racquetball courts, and a swimming pool. The college is located in Bridgewater, Va.
