A utomotive Specialist Performance Group LLC was created in 1991 in Tyngsborough, Massachusetts. After serving as a heavy equipment mechanical and operations consultant for over ten years, Tim Matson decided to return to his ideal passion ; automobiles. Initially focusing on general automobile repair, specifically diagnostic codes and repair, Automotive Specialist began to develop a niche market following in the aftermarket performance tuning sector. What started as late night projects in the shop, soon transformed into clientele who wanted to improve the look and performance of their vehicles. Relying on past experience in the professional racing industry ( AHRA Pro Stock National Champion '69 and '70 ) and in the field ( owner of three petrol and repair stations for over 15 years ), Tim was able to diagnose and recommend products that he believed would assist clients in obtaining their final goal in the most efficient manner possible. With son Carleton joining the team in 2003, Automotive Specialist soon restructured itself as the premier shop and distributor of high end performance market products within the Boston region and developed an even stronger customer base. Now serving clients in over six continents across the globe, Automotive Specialist continues to try and remain committed toward growth while still focusing on their core mission of "Precision, Performance, Prestige." Automotive Specialist continues to focus on delivering an unquestionable commitment of service that is not typically found in the automobile aftermarket industry.
