Hearing Loss can be caused by a wide variety of things. Long term exposure to loud sounds such as chains saws is the most common cause of hearing loss. Viruses, illnesses, certain types of medication and traumatic injury can also cause hearing loss. There are also hereditary factors that can come into play so it is important to get a hearing test in Maine.
1 out of every 100,000 children are born with hearing loss. And a study showed that 15% of college students have a hearing loss by the time they graduate.
