Established in 1969, Associated Milk Producers Inc. (AMPI) is a dairy marketing cooperative. Based in Freeman, S.D., the cooperative has more than 3,500 member farms and 14 manufacturing plants. Its members operate dairy farms located throughout the states of Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota and North Dakota. Associated Milk Producers Inc. also has a full line of consumer-packaged dairy products, such as cheese, butter, cheese sauce and pudding. In 2007, the company acquired Cass-Clay Creamery Inc.
